Good Neighbors, Greater Well-Being — Why Connections Matter
Sometimes a little wellness looks like learning to roll sushi. Or maybe it looks like cheering on a neighbor at a climbing wall. And sometimes it’s simply sharing a laugh with someone who lives down the street. At Jubilee, we believe feeling good includes feeling connected; our community is dedicated to both.
Our Full-Time Lifestyle Director
Our full-time Lifestyle Director plans more than 75 resident events each year, giving you plenty of opportunities to meet neighbors, explore new interests, and enjoy time together. And there is a good reason to make room for those moments. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), social connections support mental and physical well-being and help people feel cared for, valued, and supported.
Jubilee Helps You Feel Less Alone and More at Home
The CDC identifies loneliness and social isolation as risk factors for depression and anxiety. While community events aren’t a treatment for mental health conditions, they can create opportunities to build meaningful relationships that support everyday well-being. Our resident gatherings give those relationships a place to get started. Social hours, bingo nights, holiday celebrations, and block parties offer different ways to comfortably meet people without having to come up with an introduction out of thin air.
Jubilee Helps Make Social Time Part of the Routine
Sometimes the hardest part of doing something good for yourself is getting started. Having someone join you can make an activity more appealing and give you something to look forward to. Our wellness classes and local outings offer opportunities to bring social time into your routines. A class can become a regular occasion to see a friend. An outing can introduce you to neighbors who enjoy the same things you do.
Jubilee Encourages Face Time, Not Screen Time
Sure, our phones help us stay in touch, but they also can keep our attention somewhere other than the people sitting beside us. Putting the phone away for a little while makes room to listen, ask questions, and enjoy the experience in front of you. Many Jubilee gatherings provide a chance to step away from technology. Recent hands-on events such as Blooming Creations, our flower planting class, and Boards and Bites, a charcuterie-making class, gave our residents something to create while spending time together. And with busy hands, taking a break from doomscrolling comes naturally.
Your Next Connection Starts at Jubilee
When it comes to making friends, you don’t need an outgoing personality, a packed social calendar, or a ready-made group of friends. You just need Jubilee. We create opportunities to gather, explore, and celebrate because wellness includes more than what you do on your own. It also includes the people and experiences that make everyday life feel fuller.
