IWBI Awards Another 185 Homes in Jubilee with WELL Residence Certifications
The International Well Building Institute (IWBI) recently awarded 185 homes in Jubilee a WELL Residence certification, signifying they have met a global standard for healthier, more resilient homes.
Jubilee is the only community in Texas to have homes receive a WELL Residence certification.
The 185 homes represent 478,493 square feet of residential development. This is the second batch of Jubilee homes to receive WELL certification. Last year, 125 homes in Jubilee earned this designation.
“We’re always excited about these certifications because they provide third-party recognition that we are actually building a community that truly prioritizes wellness and isn’t simply a marketing pitch,” said Nick Deacon, Jubilee Development Manager. “Having the respected independent IWBI validate our efforts makes the achievement that much more meaningful.”
The homes met 45 criteria to earn their certifications, up from the minimum 40 criteria used to certify homes last year. Categories considered include air and water quality, light, sound, thermal comfort and more.
“It’s encouraging to see us continuing to build on what we learned from our first submission,” Deacon said.
Another 215 homes have been submitted for certification. The goal is to have all homes in Jubilee earn the WELL Residence seal.
In 2023, Jubilee was the first Texas community to become an early adopter of IWBI’s WELL for residential program, designed to transform the way homes are designed, built and maintained to support human health and well-being. Today, 4,470 units around the world representing 6,820,597 square feet have received a WELL Residence certification, according to IBWI.
The WELL for residential program consists of more than 100 health strategies to foster healthier environments at home. These include improved air and water quality, safer building materials, proper lighting, optimized sleep and more. Johnson Development, developer of Jubilee, was one of 25 early adopters across 10 countries.
Every home in Jubilee is built with a variety of wellness features, including a reverse-osmosis filtration system at the kitchen sink; a fresh-air intake and a MERV 13 media filter; circadian rhythm lighting for the family room, kitchen, and primary bedroom; and a central automation system.
Beyond the home, the community is designed to promote healthier living, with wellness zones designed intentionally for connection, exploration, inspiration and reflection.
“Your home — your community — should be your sanctuary,” Deacon said. “Jubilee is designed to be just that, a place where you can rejuvenate, relax and take comfort.”
Homes in Jubilee are base-priced from the $290,000s to the millions. Builders include Beazer Homes, Chesmar, Coventry Homes, David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes, J. Patrick Homes, Newmark Homes, Perry Homes, Tri Pointe Homes and Westin Homes.
The 1,622-acre Jubilee is in Hockley just south of Highway 290 and a few miles from the Grand Parkway.
